At an altitude of 1411m, the town of Leukerbad is located in canton Valais, southwest Switzerland, between Lake Geneva and the Rhone Glacier. Everything in Leukerbad is within easy reach on foot and there is also a free regular bus that goes around the town for Guest Card holders. History Of The Town
Known for its unique health and spa facilities, it was the Romans who were among the first to recognise the healing properties of the hot springs of Leukerbad. Every day 3.9 million litres of hot water gush from 65 thermal springs. These thermal springs have led to the development of tourism in Leukerbad and made it the biggest natural spa and wellness resort in the Swiss Alps. Its attractions include the Alpentherme and Burgerbad thermal baths and it is a popular destination for wellness and sports' enthusiasts alike. |
